The evening this is about
A booking page is not a form. It is a promise about a room you cannot see from the internet — how many people fit on that corner table, whether two twos can be pushed together at eight, whether the party of nine is even possible on a Saturday. Most booking widgets know none of that, so they either take bookings you cannot honour or refuse ones you could.
- The site takes a table for nine and the room has nothing bigger than six.
- Two bookings land on the same table because two people took them in two places.
- The book says full and the room is half empty, because nobody released the no-show at nine.
- A guest wants 19:45 and the only choices offered are 19:00 and 20:00.
What it actually does
- Shows only times your room can actually take, using your real tables and how long a sitting lasts in your venue.
- Puts the booking into the same book as the phone, the message and the guest at the bar.
- Holds the table for the length you set, then releases it rather than keeping it empty out of politeness.
- Remembers the guest — what they asked for last time, the high chair, the seat away from the door.
The detail that matters
The floor plan is the thing that makes this honest. A booking system that only counts covers will happily sell you thirty seats in a room that seats thirty — and then two parties of five arrive and your four-tops are gone. Booking against actual tables is more work to set up once and stops that entire class of evening.
What it does not do
- It does not take a deposit unless you switch that on — and for most venues, most nights, you should not.
- It does not overbook on purpose to cover no-shows. If you want that, it is a decision you make, not one it makes for you.
We would rather you read this before the call than find out after.
Where it sits
Reservations, the floor plan and the end of no-shows. Online Table Booking is one of three tools in Bookings & Floor, and it runs on the same guest, booking and menu data as the rest of the Suite — so nothing is typed in twice.
Fifteen minutes, no slides.
Tell us how your venue runs and we will say plainly whether Online Table Booking helps — and which two or three tools to start with.
