The evening this is about
The menu changes more often than anything else in a venue and lives in more places than anything else — a printed card, a PDF on the site, a board outside, a platform listing, and a laminated allergen sheet from last winter. Change the price of one dish and you have five jobs, so you do one.
- The site menu and the printed one disagree, and the guest is holding the wrong one.
- The allergen sheet is a photocopy with handwriting on it.
- A dish came off two weeks ago and is still being ordered from the QR code.
- The daily special is on a board and nowhere else.
What it actually does
- Keeps one menu, published everywhere it needs to be — page, QR code, print, platform.
- Carries the fourteen EU allergens per dish, worked out through the recipe rather than typed in by hand.
- Updates the QR menu the moment you change something, with nothing to reprint.
- Shows the menu in the guest's language without a separate card per language.
The detail that matters
The fourteen allergens are a legal obligation in the EU, and handling them by hand is where venues get caught — not out of carelessness, but because a sauce inside a dish inside a set menu is three steps away from the ingredient list. Calculated through the recipe tree, the mustard two levels down is declared without anyone having to remember it is there.
What it does not do
- It cannot know what it is not told. If a supplier changes a recipe and nobody updates the ingredient, no software will catch it.
- It does not replace your kitchen's procedure for cross-contamination. Declaring an allergen and preventing one are different jobs.
We would rather you read this before the call than find out after.
Where it sits
A site that sells, on the phone the guest is holding. Menu & Allergen Cards is one of three tools in Web & Commerce, and it runs on the same guest, booking and menu data as the rest of the Suite — so nothing is typed in twice.
Fifteen minutes, no slides.
Tell us how your venue runs and we will say plainly whether Menu & Allergen Cards helps — and which two or three tools to start with.
